摘要

Climate change is affecting the distribution, biology, and potential for pest outbreaks across various crops and geographical regions. To ensure global food security, it is crucial to lower greenhouse gas emissions and minimize resource consumption by mitigating the impact of pests and pathogens on crops. Climate change has significantly impacted crop yields worldwide. In locations lacking proper monitoring systems and management measures, invasive species can become major pests, leading to substantial losses. Climate-smart pest management (CSPM) is a multi-sectoral approach that aims to reduce pest-related crop losses, enhance ecosystem services, lower greenhouse gas emissions caused by climate change, and bolster the resilience of agricultural systems per unit of food production. Collaboration among crop production, research, extension, and policy sectors is essential to develop more robust and resilient food production systems through CSPM.
