摘要

The continuing calls for Education for Sustainable Development require Higher Education Institutions to accelerate their curriculum transformation efforts. One way to boost curriculum transformation without additional cost and time is to strengthen student assessment approaches. The purpose of this paper is twofold. First, the development of a holistic assessment approach for promoting graduates’ sustainability-oriented knowledge and skills through collaborative learning is articulated. Secondly, its application in an undergraduate Environmental Economics course is illustrated. Data were collected through a survey questionnaire to examine students’ views about the assessment approach. The results from the analysis show that the proposed assessment approach can enhance students’ engagement, knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development. Implications for practice and further research are discussed.
