Coal-Fired Power Plant Flue Gas Pollution and Treatment Technologies

  • Hailing Ma

摘要

This paper comprehensively reviews the flue gas pollution and its treatment technologies in coal-fired power plants. Initially, the emission characteristics of major pollutants in the flue gas of coal-fired power plants and their environmental hazards are discussed, with a focus on sulfur oxides (SOx), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and particulate matter (PM). The paper then delves into various technologies for reducing these pollutant emissions, including carbon dioxide capture, desulfurization, denitrification, and particulate matter removal techniques. The efficiency and practical application of these technologies are analyzed, such as Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP), Baghouse Filters, and Wet Electrostatic Precipitators (WESP), along with their potential environmental impacts. The paper also discusses the global application of these technologies in coal-fired power plants and compares the effectiveness of different technologies in pollutant control. Finally, the paper proposes suggestions for future research and technological improvements, particularly in the areas of particulate matter removal and final flue gas treatment.
