Legal Problem Related to Way of Life Protection and Promotion of the Ethnic Groups in Thailand

The main objection of this paper is to study the legal problem related to protection and promotion of the way of life’s ethnic groups in Thailand. Currently, the ethnic groups live for approximately 9.68% of the country’s population in Thailand. Moreover, each of the ethnic groups has different way of life, society, economic and customary, and they are adjusted to the natural resources and a live location. Pursuant to article 70 of the constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand B.E. 2560 provided that “The state should promote and provide protection for different ethnic groups to have the right to live in the society according to the traditional culture, custom and way of life on a voluntary basis, peacefully and without interference.” However, presently, Thailand does not have directly the law related to way of life’s protection and promotion of the ethnic groups. Results show that Thailand does not find the law related to protection and promotion of the way of life’s the ethnic groups. Therefore, it should be necessary to enact the act related to the way of life’s protection and promotion of ethnic groups in order to have their right and contribute to sustainable development in life and society of ethnic groups.
