Effects of Oscillating Spanwise Mean Pressure Gradient on Rotating Plane Couette Flow
摘要
Effects of oscillating spanwise mean pressure gradient, i.e., OSMPG, on rotating plane Couette flow, especially on the mean velocity profile are investigated by DNSs of a spectral method. OSMPG disrupts vortex rolls at small rotation numbers, decreases skin friction, and induces linear mean velocity profiles at the channel centre. In contrast, the linear profile of zero absolute vorticity, typically observed at large rotation numbers, is found to be robust for OSMPG.
