摘要
Biologists are drowning in data. Increasingly sophisticated techniques for automation and parallelism are generating ever-greater quantities of raw data—much more than they could ever hope to analyze by hand. Almost out of self-defense, the field of bioinformatics has evolved to find ways to deal with the deluge (and other problems in biology) by adapting and inventing computational methods to make sense of increasingly massive datasets.
