Finishing and Occlusal Fitting Techniques
摘要
The primary goal of finishing and polishing is to achieve a final direct restoration without excess material, with smooth surfaces, and without surface voids or roughness. This favors increasing the restoration’s longevity, reducing the probability of marginal secondary caries’ occurrence, and ensuring the health of the periodontal tissues. This chapter will present how to manage the contour finishing and excess removal, working protocols for finishing the shape and occlusal adjustments, surface finishing and roughness reduction, and finishing and polishing of direct restorations of anterior teeth.
