摘要

The dentist must conduct a thorough and appropriate examination of the patient to assess the condition of the patient’s dental, oral, and perioral tissues. This way, an appropriate diagnosis of the condition is established by combining the information provided by history, anamnesis, and paraclinical investigations. The most common complementary examinations are retroalveolar radiography, bitewing radiography, panoramic radiography, CBCT scans, vitality tests, and hematological and microbiological tests. This chapter will be focusing on anamnesis, examination, complementary investigations, diagnosis, treatment plan, clinical steps and working protocol for direct restorations.
