This chapter focuses on cloud computing. We present its enabling technologies, explore the Hadoop ecosystem as the foundation, illustrating its influence on industrial-level platforms like Azure, AWS, and GCP. Instead of detailing the myriad services of platforms like Azure, our approach is to offer a fundamental understanding of cloud platform design through the lens of Hadoop’s architecture and functionality.
