Acute SL Instability: Arthroscopic Treatment
摘要
SL dissociation is the most common cause of acquired carpal instability. The dorsal aspect of the SLL is the thickest and most resistant and plays the most important role in SL stability. The healing potential of SL injuries is limited, and treatment must be done during the acute phase of the injury to achieve better results. The arthroscopy is the gold standard for diagnosing scapholunate injuries and allows to perform a repair/reattachment of the SLL with dorsal and volar capsular reinforcement reproducing the treatment conducted by open surgery but avoiding the damage of the soft tissues and blood supply that is inherent to the open approach.
