Positioning and Accesses

Exposure and access are two of the most important factors for a good outcome in both open and laparoscopic approaches. Correct and stable positioning of the patient is the first step for a successful operation. Safe positioning of the arm and leg are crucial in preventing pressure lesions, such as ulnar or peroneal neuropathy and neurologic “stretch” injuries to the upper extremities.
