Rural Populations
摘要
Adolescents in rural communities have less access to healthcare and experience more adverse health outcomes compared to their peers in urban centers. Remote location, frequency of overcrowding in households, limited availability of medical resources, and paucity of medical providers in rural areas contribute to these disparities. Telehealth is an important tool in addressing many of these barriers and broadening access to healthcare. Telehealth is used to provide direct patient care but can also help general providers and community health workers obtain additional specialty support in caring for complex patients in rural locations.
