A General Overview of Telehealth in Pediatrics

Virtual healthcare has finally “come of age” for the pediatric population, especially for the adolescent patient. It took a pandemic to accelerate widespread acceptance and adoption, but now telehealth is a legitimate care modality in healthcare systems. Policies and legislation continue to be created to accommodate this modality, yet the result remains that access to care is broadened beyond the four walls of a physical building, and virtual care can now be in almost any location with almost anyone participating.
