Impact of the Somali Conflict on National and Regional Security

The previous chapter has given us a background of the nature of conflict in Somalia by discussing the actors involved and the characteristics of violence being witnessed. In this chapter, I will analyze the nature of threats emanating from the conflict in Somalia and its implications on the national and regional security. We begin by looking at how national security in Somalia has been threatened as a result of the conflict before looking at the impact on the security of neighboring countries.
