摘要
This chapter originates from digital citizens as the “backbone” of the financial system 2030 and describes the role and changing behavior of the consumer in this context. The development toward digital money is introduced as the core concept which enables the unbundling of monetary functions through digitalization, which will ultimately lead to the full virtualization of money. In this context, central bank digital currencies are introduced as a novel concept for central bank money. This new form of money may be used in the web3 economy, which is based on peer-to-peer ecosystems and digital communities, which emerge as a new concept across geographic boundaries.
