Computational Optimization of Water Resources Management Through Evolutionary Computing: An Approach Based on the Transportation Problem
摘要
One of the most urgent dilemmas in the world is the management and supply of water. Water stress occurs when excess water is extracted from the water resources sources during a given period. It can be caused by economic and demographic growth, as well as climate change. This paper addresses the challenge of optimizing the management of water resources using computational optimization techniques to propose a tool that benefits decision-making to counteract the problem of water stress. To achieve this, the Water Resource Management problem is modeled in a similar approach to the transportation problem, and both mathematical modeling and metaheuristic algorithms are used to achieve effective optimization of water use. The results show that the proposed model offers an alternative solution for the optimization of water resources through computational optimization techniques. These findings have significant implications for sustainable water management and provide a solid foundation for future research in this field.
