Audiovisual Sexual Stimulation During Hemodynamic Evaluation of the Penis
摘要
Audiovisual sexual stimulation (AVSS) is an integral part of the history of erectile function evaluation and is an important feature of penile Doppler ultrasound (PDU). It has been postulated that AVSS enhances parasympathetic tone and leads to a more rigid erection after intracavernous injections of vasoactive agents in the PDU setting. There are studies suggesting that AVSS might also lead to considerably superior penile hemodynamic parameters by combining and might eventually change final PDU diagnoses. The aim of this chapter is to discuss the most relevant aspects of AVSS and its potential benefits during PDU examinations.
