Principles of Doppler Ultrasound
摘要
The inclusion of Doppler technology has significantly broadened the applications of ultrasound. Doppler techniques in ultrasound offer a unique capability among clinical methods, providing insights into both the morphology and function of organs. It is commonly employed to evaluate vascular patency and organ perfusion and plays a crucial role in the evaluation of penile blood flow. This chapter covers various aspects of Doppler ultrasound, beginning of description ultrasound physics, image creation, and instrumentation. Additionally, detailed discussions follow on the principles of Doppler effect, the interpretation of color-Doppler images, quantitative methods in Doppler analysis, the incorporation of color hemodynamics, and the most prevalent Doppler artifacts. Overall, this chapter aims at providing a comprehensive overview about physical principles and fundamental concepts associated with Doppler ultrasound.
