Optimizing Written Medical Reports
摘要
The field of radiology usually requires a meticulous documentation of findings to aid clinical practitioners in the decision-making process. Therefore, producing adequate written medical reports with a detailed description of penile hemodynamic studies is also an important skill that examiners should learn. Although providing reports is not a requirement per se and many experienced urologists performing penile Doppler ultrasound (PDU) studies do not provide reports, it is the authors’ understanding that official reports should always be given. These reports are very helpful in the follow-up of these patients and contribute to the transparency of the treatment process and to the external validation of the findings. In this chapter, the most important pitfalls of structured medical reports for PDU studies are discussed.
