摘要

Constant advancements in ultrasound (US) technologies have been reported in the recent years. These include but are not limited to color and power Doppler, speckle reduction, compound imaging, harmonic imaging, and 3D imaging, all of which have become increasing popular and have added significant quality improvements to US examinations. When it comes to applicability in sexual medicine, more specifically in the evaluation of penile and erection health, there is still considerable debate regarding these new technologies. Elastography, microvascular imaging, and contrast-enhanced US (CEUS) have recently emerged as potential new tools for the adjunct evaluation of penile hemodynamics. This chapter discusses how these new technologies could eventually be beneficial in the context of erectile dysfunction.
