摘要

The von Neumann type Game of lifeGame of life cellular c-e structures U, V and of the Moore type W in Fig.  6.2 (Chap. 6), have identical set of cells, but the same cell in each of them has different (U and V—disjoint) neighbourhood. Thus, U, V, W are structurally different. Nonetheless, behaviourally identical, in accordance with the global semantic rule for this task, because any cell \(a_{x,y}\) , shared by U, V, W, modifies its value (dead/live, i.e. \(\textbf{0}\) / \(\textbf{1}\) ) the same way, depending only on the number of live neighbours, not of the location of live neighbours in the neighbourhoodNeighbourhood of \(a_{x,y}\) . This is not so with cellular c-e structures generating separately the red, blue, green rays—Fig.  5.2 (Chap. 5), then combined into one cellular c-e structure (Fig.  6.6 ), which generates all these rays simultaneously.
