Modern Gasification Process
摘要
The pressure entrained coal gasification technology after more than half a century's development has proven the right technology for the production of both fuel has and syngas to meet the current market conditions and regulatory requirements. Although as the source of a fuel gas for the generation of electricity the technology along with gas turbine technology has yet demonstrated its competitiveness in the utility market it has been widely accepted and deployed in synthetic industries of certain markets for the production of fertilizers, methanol, acetic acid, glycols, olefins, and liquid fuels etc. Such a long journey to establish the modern gasification technology started prior to WWII by Dr. Schmalfeldt who engineered a gasification facility in central Germany, which is capable of taking in as-received brown coal and turning it into coal fines before being gasified to manufacture syngas for a downstream Fischer-Tropsch plant. The principle was picked up post the war by numerous companies and institutions in a belief that the principle would deliver a modern gasification technology that would be favored by the fundamentals of chemistry.
