Introduction

Different from any previous energy transitions, current transition centered on climate change and biodiversity faces challenges of a global scale and a live cycle in characters, instead of regional and segmental, which calls for a collective action globally that needs to be addressed with an approach from cradle to grave. It is author’s hope that the evolution of coal gasification technology filled with rich experience, excellence, and knowledge with innovation would help us land on a solution long lasting. At least, it will entertain readers with a lot of critical thinking, inspirations, and aspirations as well to today's technological innovation and the search for a road that leads to a sustainable future.
