Reading the IT security news from the last week can be frustrating. Words such as attack, gaps, blackmailers, gangsters, spyware, threats, and failure occur in headlines. Yet even if the news conveys neither a realistic nor a complete picture, the topic of IT security has its peculiarities. – How do we perceive the requirements of IT security? What do we need to know? What should we be able to do? These are the topics of the following essay at the end of this book.
