Cyber-Physical Systems (IoT and OT)

Production processes in automotive, process industry and other industries are controlled using information technology and sensors and actuators in factories. Critical IT applications are by far not necessarily located in data centers. That is why, in addition to the organization and orchestration scheme (Taxonomy) for data center-centric IT, another Taxonomy is presented that provides an overview of all topic areas for securing Operational Technology (OT) and the Internet of Things (IoT). The Taxonomy is also a means for assigning responsibilities and for organizing the division of labor. Other new concepts for OT and IoT will also be presented in this chapter.
