The Reception System for Unaccompanied Migrant Minors Italy: An Overview
摘要
Argento analyses the reception system for UAMs in Italy and shows that it has evolved significantly in recent years. The reception of UAMs in Italy is structured as a system of ‘multi-level management or governance’, as the implementation of integrated reception projects involves the Ministry of the Interior, local authorities, the associative sector and municipalities. The most significant progress in the reception of UAMs occurred with Law 47/2017, which introduced, in addition to the provision of assistance for essential needs, complementary measures of information, accompaniment, assistance and counselling, through the creation of individual pathways for socio-economic inclusion. However, this measure has not been implemented homogeneously and uniformly throughout the country, due to both the different economic and political contexts of the various Italian regions and the restrictions introduced since 2018 by the current government, with varying repercussions at the local level.
