The evolution of policies to set frameworksPolicies frameworks and provide goals to help guide decision-making and investment globally is described, and examples of their application in cities are given. Case studiesCase study for leading examples of changes made in citiesCity towards a more resilient, sustainable, and liveable future are provided from London, Shanghai, Accra, Singapore, Amsterdam, and Melbourne. These include urban forests, urban agriculture, water storage and re-use, floodFlood management using nature-based solutions, walking, cycling, and electric public transport for mobility, and using waste as a resource.
