A deficiencyDeficiency of vitamin B12Vitamin B12 has been linked to an increase in risk of CVD as well as elevated homocysteine levels. Accordingly, in this article, we have described the impact and role of vitamin B12 in different types of CVD and its association with homocysteineHomocysteine. In addition, we have discussed the efficacy of vitamin B12 in protectionProtection against cardiovascular complications in diabetesDiabetes as well as the involvement of vitamin B12 deficiency in certain vulnerable populations such as pediatricPediatric/adolescentsAdolescent. Since higher vitamin B12 plasma concentrations have been linked to an increased risk in cardiovascular mortality, the relationship between high vitamin B12 levels and potential cardiovascular harm will also be described.
