Introduction. Spontaneously Formed Nanoscale Inhomogenieties in Different Materials

We provide an introduction to the subject of phase separation and briefly recollect very different systems (ranging from quantum gases and magnetic oxides to high \(T_c\) superconductors and rotating neutron stars), where the phase separation takes place.
