Noise

Noise shows up in many different forms, but two are unavoidable and ubiquitous in electronics: Johnson-Nyquist noise and shot noise. The former has a thermal origin, the same that underlies black-body radiation; the latter is a statistical one due to the mutual independence of charge carriers.
