Looking for Solid Bases: Attempts to Explain Everything

We analyse the claim of physical science—as the most fundamental of the natural sciences-to exhaust within itself the entire knowledge of nature through the description of a few fundamental elements. In particular, the diatribe of the reductionist and anti-reductionist vision is stressed, where the “information” physical quantity plays a key role.
