Update on New Technology for Management of BPH
摘要
After years of less innovation, but consolidation and establishment of matured treatments modalities like laser-based procedures or bipolar technology in BPH treatment, new technologies to treat LUTS due to BPH are pushing into clinical care, proposing minimal-invasive cure for BPH, aiming to reduce procedure-related morbidity and treatment-related learning curve without compromising the clinical outcome or sexual and ejaculatory function. Different approaches, for example mechanical dilatation, water vapor, robot-controlled tissue removal, or vessel embolization, are utilized to achieve these goals and will be discussed in this chapter. As expected, new technologies are missing long-term follow-up and data quality is inhomogeneous and future trials will tell, if one of the discussed promising technologies will have the potential to change the management of BPO.
