Analysis of the Impact of Fintech on the Economy: Japan and Russia Case

The research paper discusses modern digital technologies in the current conditions of global economy in the financialization. The existing theoretical and methodological basis argues that modern digital technologies lead to stimulating the economic growth of the country. This study attempts to explore this statement using an econometric model, which allows us to get an idea of future development opportunities in the case of the use of innovative tools and technologies that are successful in Russia and Japan. The article analyses indicators such as GDP growth (%), mobile-phone users (per 100 adults), Bitcoin trading volume (operation with JPN/RUB to Bitcoin), numbers of traders per minute annually, share of non-cash operation (%), e-money payment transactions (millions), ATMs (per 100,000 adults). The research paper presents regression-correlation analysis with using of these indicators. The article confirms the lack of influence of fintech on Japan and on Russia.
