Metal-organic frameworks are extensively utilised in catalysis attributable to their huge porosities, even pore sizes and shapes, expandable pore surfaces, redox properties, and many other exceptional structural highlights that are easily tuneable. In addition to the need for clean and maintainable technologies responsible for the storage and conversion processes of energy, together with the quick enhancement of the synthetic stability of these materials, metal-organic frameworks, and their composites are developing as unique electrocatalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction. This chapter outlines demonstrative progress and highlights the significance of hydrogen evolution reaction and the structural property relationships of metal-organic frameworks. The metal-organic frameworks demonstrate the possibility to fill in as promising candidates for accomplishing high electrocatalytic exhibitions and studying electrocatalytic systems.
