How to Build Frontal Lobes
摘要
Frontal lobes are delimited posteriorly by the deep fissure of the central sulcus which lies behind the precentral gyrus. The central sulcus resembles an elongated S shape visible on both hemispheres as a continuous serpentine fissure on the topography of the brain, separating the primary motor territory of the frontal lobes from the somatosensory parietal regions. Human frontal lobes are capacious and encompass an enormous surface area in the skull compared to other lobes, comprising about half of all cerebral territory. Contrary to the notion that this region is comparably larger than in other mammals, there is instead a greater volume of white matter pathways involving greater association, commissural, projection, and intra-frontal networks in humans compared to monkeys (Barrett et al., 2019).
