Inspection and Testing

Inspection and testing are the ‘insurance’ needed to ensure that the previous engineering and construction efforts pay off. The inspections would generally be assigned to the Quality Assurance (QA) group. An important last step is to demonstrate compliance with the acoustic requirements imposed by the owner and/or regulatory agencies. Appropriate test methods, instrumentation, calibration, and documentation need to be addressed. The type of data needed to assist in determining the cause of acoustic excesses will be covered in this chapter.
