Politics Beyond Political Institutions: Football as an Organizational Field

This chapter discusses football politics using Bourdieu’s field approach. First, the internal structure of the German political field is looked at. Second, the economic actors within this field are analysed at the intersection of business and the public. Third, the relationship between state and football is described along the areas of social integration, stadium construction, and stadiums security.
