Applications: Electron Transport at the Nanoscale

One of the more successful applications of the non-equilibrium GFs formalism has been the description of quantum transport in meso and nanoscale devices. At these scales and at low temperature quantum coherence cannot be neglected which, combined with interactions, leads to peculiar and rather complex phenomena.
