Imaging of the Nasopharynx
摘要
This chapter aims to delineate the anatomic landmarks of the nasopharynx and describe characteristic imaging findings of common nasopharyngeal pathology. The normal radiologic appearance of the nasopharynx is discussed, setting the necessary framework for understanding and recognizing different pathologic entities. Inflammatory and nonneoplastic conditions are presented first followed by a detailed discussion about nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Characteristic computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) features, radiologic pitfalls, and distinguishing findings are discussed for each of these commonly encountered conditions seen in daily practice.
