Congenital and Neonatal Infections

Congenital infections are infections acquired while the fetus is developing in utero. These infections are caused by a variety of bacteria, viruses, or fungi and can interfere with normal brain development. This chapter discusses the clinical findings and neuroimaging appearances of congenital infections.
