Rudolf Steiner—Inventor of Anthroposophical Medicine
摘要
Rudolf Steiner (1861–1925) was born in Austria. He allegedly had his first spiritual experience aged 9. Steiner studied in Vienna and became an expert on the writings of Goethe. In 1891, he received a doctorate from the University of Rostock for a thesis entitled ‘Truth and Science’. He moved to Berlin, got involved in the Theosophical Society, became disenchanted with this movement, and thus created Anthroposophy around 1912. After his first wife had died, he remarried and moved to Switzerland, where he built the ‘Goetheanum’. There, he and Ita Wegman began developing the principles of anthroposophic medicine and eventually founded ‘Weleda’, the company that to the present day is a world leader in the production of anthroposophic medicines. Steiner also introduced the principles of anthroposophy to other areas, e.g., education and agriculture. Steiner published and lectured extensively even in his last years when he became increasingly frail. He died in the presence of Ita Wegman in 1925.
