George Goodheart—Inventor of Applied Kinesiology

George Goodheart (1918–2008) was born in Detroit, USA. He became a chiropractor and worked for many years with his father. Over the years, he developed a muscle testing technique that he called ‘applied kinesiology’. In 1964, he began teaching applied kinesiology to other chiropractors. He wrote several books about his ideas and managed to popularise applied kinesiology, first amongst chiropractors and later also amongst other alternative practitioners. In 1979, he was selected as the first ever chiropractor to care for the US Olympic team. Goodheart died at his Michigan home in 2008.
