Science and Religion
摘要
In the previous chapters of this book, we have gone through a thorough analysis of what science is, its history, and methods. Apart from science, religion is the other system that humanity has historically employed to seek understanding and truth about the universe and our place within it and for providing a compass on what constitutes moral behavior. While science relies on empirical evidence, testing hypotheses, and the scientific method to draw conclusions, religion often delves into revelation, inspiration, spiritual beliefs, moral guidance, and the quest for higher meaning. What unites science and religion is that they both endeavor to gain insights, to elucidate the truths about the world and what is and what should be and that rational thinking plays a role in both systems.
