摘要

This chapter delves into the often overlooked yet significant intersection of sexual function and hip preservation procedures such as hip arthroscopy and periacetabular osteotomy. While these surgical interventions are crucial for rectifying hip joint disorders and enhancing patient quality of life, their impact on sexual activity and related patient-reported outcomes remains largely underexplored. We will embark on a comprehensive exploration of this topic, addressing salient aspects such as the timeline for resuming sexual activity post-surgery, the role of physical therapy and pain management in mitigating sexual concerns, and the influences that patient-related, surgery-related, and rehabilitation-related factors have on the return to sexual activity. The chapter aims to provide a holistic view, facilitating better patient counseling, postoperative care, and ultimately, improved overall patient outcomes.
