On Truth and Its Relationship with Inference

Sometimes Aristotle’s words “all human beings by nature desire to know” are quoted as “human beings tend towards truth,” referring to the quality of knowledge. However, nothing has been said so far about the truth of the statements, a subject that in most treatises on logic is dealt with by assigning to each statement only the qualifiers true and false that, without defining their meaning and considering them syntactically, are calculated based on rules to do so by means of so-called truth tables and starting from the most elementary components of each statement.
