Concluding Remarks

In the Conclusion, three main points raised by this book are identified: the definition of an analytical groundwork where socio-environmental injustices are discussed by placing energy into the eco-welfare framework, the discussion of energy poverty as a pivotal eco-welfare topic for both research and policy, and the role that can be played by Renewable Energy Communities to transform the socio-technical energy system towards a fair low-carbon transition. Ultimately, a brief overview of the little explored aspects of the emerging interplay between energy and eco-welfare as identified, as for the case of the territorial implications of energy transition.
