Electrolyte Solutions
摘要
Since water is a polar solvent, electrolytes can easily dissolve in it. They dissolve as dissociated ions that can be affected by electrical fields and currents. If two electrodes, one positive and the other negative, are inserted into an aqueous solution of an electrolyte, the positive ions will migrate to the negative electrode and the negative ions to the positive electrode. The migration of ions can be studied experimentally and quantitative conclusions about the movement of ions and the conduction of electricity can be made. Ionic conductance is studied in project ESCSE.
