The projects in this chapter emphasize the determination of values of thermodynamic state functionsState function. The state functionsState function, with the exception of entropyEntropy, are defined in terms of changes (e.g., formation, decomposition) or in reference to some point. The Third LawThird Law of Thermodynamics, however, permits the assignment of a value to a substance as a function of temperature only.
