Critical Properties and Real Gases

Gases behave ideally in the limiting conditions of high temperature and low pressure. An ideal gas does not undergo a phase transition to a condensed phase. The ideal gas remains a gas at all conditions of temperature and pressure. A real gas can undergo a phase transition to a condensed phase at sufficiently low temperatures and at sufficiently high pressures.
