Special Supplement – List of Reported Interspecific Hybrids Within the Genus Nicotiana

Several lists of interspecific hybrids of Nicotiana were published in the past, including the last one in 1954. Subsequent estimations concerning the numbers of hybrid combinations within the genus were not supported by references to particular hybrids. As of the end of 2023, records of 455 two-species hybrids were located and they are compiled in the present inventory, including 12 that were not grown past the seedling stage and 5 that were obtained as viable hybrid seeds. The list provides hybrid combination, indication of whether a reciprocal was reported, and citations of relevant reports.
